Phototherapy
Using
Phototherapy techniques in our practice significantly increases
the effectiveness of our sessions, due to the ability to carry out
deep and memorable experiences, like tell people even after many
years.
A
method so creative and fruitful was obliged to meet the body, now the
undisputed subject of the latest developments of psychotherapy and
every technique of personal growth.
Every
participant to this experience can verify concretely how these
techniques are of particular benefit to people in helping them in
giving voice at their resources and bring out a solid sense of self.
The
work of integration of mind, body and image makes the experience even
more complete and memorable, essential condition for the
effectiveness in creating conditions for changement.
Bodymind
Phototherapy, structured by Riccardo Musacchi is a therapeutic
technique that use photographs or images in conjunction with a great
attention to body reactions, sensations and movements. The
photographs allow memories and feelings to awaken awareness and
therapeutic work with the body allows you to process the most of the
experiences emerged from the pictures, always with respect and within
the window of tolerance of the person.
The
emotions that are opened by the photographs are always very close to
our core. The photos are what remains of special moments, are our
memory, that is our identity. The photos are used to try to defeat
forgetfulness, to remember who we are, who we were and also who we’ll
be! Often they claim the truth. Or hide it. People's reactions in
front of the images reveal much of their inner life.
In
Phototherapy in order to understand we must have to ask questions in
gentle and appropriate way because photography is also a tool of deep
communication with oneself. Touch the life and soul of the people.
The photographs touch parts of our inner world in a way that only
words could never achieve, because our subconscious is extremely
sensitive to images, much more than words.
Bodymind
Phototherapy adds a great attention to the body and the sensations
that emerge looking at pictures. In this approach a person can
receive such physical contact support during the expression of strong
emotions or helped with the touch of a hand to catalyze experiences
that would not have emerged if she/he had been left alone in her/his
protective "shell".
The
underlying assumption, which is derived from neuroscientific studies
of recent years and the theories of Bodymind approaches, is that "we
are a body." We can not ignore this fact. Looking at the images
we totally react, our body reacts, it increases breathing or stops
breathing, becomes tense, pale or blushes, looks away.
In
the presence of a professional who helps with extreme respect to stay
in touch with these changes and helps to explore them, they are
transformed into clear communications with ourselves and with others.
Under the guidance of a competent and trusted person, photos become a
tool to stimulate dialogue deeper and the discovery of a more free
and spontaneous way of living.
